Well, my plan was to create Lasagna, until we looked within the pantry and discovered NO lasagna noodles!!! Great planning, right! So, I Imagined…. Shepherds Pie? Meatballs? Lettuce Wraps? Tacos? NO! I need something new, therefore I went along to the NEW COOK PUBLICATION. Which will be silly, why is actually it called the brand new cook book, when it is definitely the cookbook that is oldest ever! Sorry, I should have turned this picture, but I did not!
So, I found this recipe for Pastichio, that we have no basic idea just how to pronounce… but I have had it at a Greek restaurant before and loved it. So, I thought (without looking directly enough from the recipe) I have actually every thing I need and this looks easy.
Really, it was pretty effortless… like making home made Lasagna (in my experience it is easy, others may vary in opinion). But, I don’t recognize i’d require nearly 2 cups of milk and I got just one cup left in the fridge. Thus, I had to borrow a cup whole milk from my neighbor, just like the olden days! It actually was sort of fun… so, enough rambling. Here is certainly one of my new hamburger that is favorite!
1 pound ground beef or turkey
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 clove garlic minced
1 8 oz can tomato sauce
1/4 cup dry wine that is redi believe you could get without)
1/2 teaspoon dry oregano
1/4 tsp sodium, ground and pepper cinnamon
3 butter that is tbsp
3 tbsp flour
1 and 3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheddar
1 cup elbow macaroni cooked
Cook meat with garlic and onion. Empty fat and mix in tomato sauce, wine, oregano, cinnamon and salt. Provide a boil, subsequently reduce heat. Simmer for 10 moments. Gradually stir meat mixture into one of many eggs.
Make the sauce inside a sauce pan. Melt butter and then add in the flour and pepper… this can make a paste. Next, add 1 cup that is and1/2 of all at once. Cook and stir until bubbly and thick. Slowly blend sauce into 2 of the beaten eggs. Blend in half associated with the parm cheese. Toss macaroni because of the egg that is remaining milk and parm cheese. To assemble inside a 8by8 cooking pan, focus on half the macaroni combination. Next, pour all the meat mixture on top the noodles, followed by the noodles and subsequently all of the sauce. Sprinkle with added cinnamon and bake in the oven at 350 for 30-45 moments or until set. Allow stand 5 minutes, then serve!
